A weekend in Matat

Michal gave me a nice surprise for my birthday: A weekend in Matat, a small village in the north of israel, right on the Lebanese border. We stayed in a beautiful cabin - (Family Amitai). So obviously I had my camera with me, took some pictures and made this web-page... Enjoy!

Trip outline

Dan

On the way to Matat we stopped in the Dan nature reserve. Dan is one of the 3 rivers that flow in the Sea of Galilee, and I think it's the one that most of the water flows through. It's a very nice reserve, you can walk around for about an hour, I liked it.

Animal life is abundant in this reserve (well, not really, but we saw a few bugs). There's a cool tree that looks like Winnie the Pooh's tree.

Towards the end of the track (or whatever you want to call it) there's a small 'wading' pool, which is quite lovely.

Galil winery

After leaving the Dan reserve, we stopped at the Galil Winery. This is our favorite israeli winery, and it's a fun place to visit as well.

Our Cabin

Finally - our Cabin. It was a really beautiful cabin, they gave us lot's of cherries, and cookies, and some bread and olives...
