Manali

Manali is a beautiful little town. It is actually split into two parts - New Manali and Old Manali. The new part is noisy, and crowded, but the old part is really just a couple of streets with guest houses and bakeries. And Israelis. We stayed in the Dragon which is quite a nice place. We loved Manali, and altogether stayed there for quite a time. We actually came back to Manali later on our trip. Sometimes Manali looks like a Swiss village (except for the Rikshas, the shoe-shine kids, the rubbish, the noise and the huge mess).
Here are some pictures from New Manali:

We usually had lunch (say between 11:00AM and 4:00PM) in Shiva Cafe, a nice garden restaurant. I took some close-up pictures in there, trying out my new 12X zoom digital camera...

One day we walked to the nice Hindu Temple in between old and new Manali. There are some nice houses and a beautiful forest in that area. On the way back from the Temple, we saw a Yak.

And finally, some pictures from Old Manali. Look at the view we had from our Dragon room!
