Back to Rishikesh

After the trek we stayed in Manali for another week... We had a great time there, doing mostly nothing, just hanging around with Maya from Israel. We also survived the dreadful earthquake that devastated Pakistan. But then we wanted to go on, and came up with a plan - we'll go to Rishikesh again, and then stay in Corbett nation park, then Nainital and finally go to Delhi with a short stop at Agra (To see the Taj of course).
This time we used the bus to go there. It wasn't the best of voyages, but we survived...

Rishikesh has great scenery - It is located in the foothills of the Himalayas. The Ganga is beautiful. But still we didn't like the place too much. No idea why, really.

Rishikesh has some huge temples, really ugly ones...

This is the famous evening-Puja place. At noon.

On our second day there, they started their festival (I forgot the name). It basically meant playing the same music over and over, from 6:00 AM till 10:00 PM, in these huge speakers all over town. You just couldn't get away from the noise...
Some people were getting ready to put these funny boats on the river (Maybe they were attempting to escape the loud noise?). Anyway we didn't stay long enough to actually see the rest of the festival, which was a shame. really.

If you want to listen to the Festival song, here's a short video clip, with the sound track.
