The OLED Handbook is in the top 1,000 Lulu.com titles

Published by under Books,OLED

This is nice – I just found out that The OLED Handbook is #980 best selling Lulu.com book. Lulu is one of the most popular print-on-demand book publishers today. I’m very pleased with the sales of the Handbook, so this is not really surprising – but still nice The Lulu sales rank takes into account [...]

The telling

Published by under Books

I just finished reading a great book, The Telling by Ursula Le Guin. Ursula is one of my favorite authors (and her “The Dispossessed” book is one of my favorite books) – and this is one of her finest books. It’s amazing how she’s able to create a convincing world with an interesting philosophy/religion in [...]

Playful Parenting

Published by under Books

I just finished reading one of the best books I’ve ever read – Playful Parenting, by Lawrence Cohen. Yeah, it’s a sort of guide to raising children, and it’s the best I’ve read to date. This book is filled with so many good ideas and tips that it’s hard to even give examples. Basically his [...]

The OLED Handbook

Published by under Books,OLED

Here’s the second large project I’ve been working on lately – The OLED Handbook, a guide to OLED technology, industry and market. I believe that this book provides the best introduction to the world of OLEDs – and covers everything you need and want to know about this exciting technology. I launched the book today [...]

Inspirational music to start working

Published by under Music

Sometimes it’s hard to start working on a new project or task. You’re simply stuck. It’s much easier to check your e-mail account or facebook. I like to use music to get started: something inspirational that really invigorates me and makes me wanna work and success.Yesterday I listened to the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack [...]

So I finally have a new phone

Published by under OLED,Personal,Photographs

A few months ago I found out that my Nokia phone is not water resistance – in fact it died after spending a few minutes in the pool. I had to switch to a phone we bought in China – a Nokia 1202, which is probably Nokia’s simplest phone ever (although it does sport a [...]

Life is good, and I have a new OLED watch

Published by under OLED,Personal

It’s been a while since I wrote last… things are kinda busy – but all is good. Noga and Abigail and both growing quickly, and it’s fun to be a real family. Although it’s also quite challenging at times (usually these times are around 5AM in the morning). Next week Abigail starts her summer vacation, [...]

NumOfGirls++

Published by under Personal

Great news – Michal gave birth to Noga, a beautiful little baby girl, on Saturday. Everybody is fine, and we’re already back home…we’re a real family now. Michal was brave as usual what with the birth being all “natural” and all. Abigail is also behaving ok, I think she’s happy to have a little sister [...]

Are e-readers really green?

Published by under Environment,Web Sites

Here’s some interesting facts, comparing e-readers (Apple’s iPAD, really) to regular books: One e-reader requires 33 pounds of minerals and 79 gallons of water. A regular book requires about 0.6 pounds of minerals and 2 gallons of water. Making an e-reader requires around 100 kw/h of energy (around 66 pounds of co2). A normal book [...]

The ecology of commerce

Published by under Books,Environment

I’ve just finished yet another environmental book: The Ecology of Commerce (by Paul Hawken).  The book is from ’93, which makes it rather old (can you believe it’s almost 20 years since ’93?) – but it’s still excellent and highly recommended. The main thesis of this book is that the markets today are not efficient, [...]
