Rila Monastery

After visiting the Stob pyramids, we continued to the Rila Monastery. It's perhaps the top tourist attraction in Bulgaria. We even saw some tourists there!
The beautiful monastery has great mountain views, and is quite nice. Obviously there's a church inside, with the remains of some saint (his hand, actually). We didn't get to see the hand. Oh well, a hand is a hand, I guess, I got me two of my own.
We also had our best lunch - a hole in the wall selling bread and yoghurt. Quite good!

And now some pictures taken from the road -

The flight back

We flew with Austrian airlnes, so we had to stop in Wien. Just before you land, there's a large wind farm near the airport.
It was really beautiful!

Well, that's it for this trip. It was short - just 4 days, but still we got to see quite a bit of Bulgaria - enough I hope to get the feel of it. I hope you enjoyed this travelogue. I've got more!
