Sitia

The end of the first day trip was in Sitia. Near sitia there is a nice monastery... So we took the side road and reached it. Actually the way to the monastery was amazing, great bays and beaches.

We found a really tiny bay. It was so beautiful, that even Michal left the car to stretch. Hands off, though, she's now officialy my own.

Whenever there was an accident on the road, they build a small memorial... Usually it's in the form of a tiny chapel. This one was really picture-worthy.

And finally we reached the monastery. After the great ride, it was a bit small... But anyway I took a couple of pictures. After all, I'm famous for my cross pictures.

After that we drove to Sitia, which is a rather large port town. We stopped for refreshment and then drove back to our hotel. There was a big wind-farm near Sitia, which is always nice to see... There was actually another farm near Haraklion.

Knossos

Knossos is the most well-known Minoan site in Crete. It's a "must see", and we decided to see it. It was rather a disappointment... I mean, it's a large palace, but it didn't really "do it to me". Maybe it's because in Israel we have so many archeological sites and old cities, that it is hard to get us excited about another one... But at least the palace was quite photogenic.

The mountains nearby were nice, and I had a good chance to impress the American tourists with my 12X zoom camera. Sadly they were not so impressed. A bunch of capitalist profiteers!
