The valley of Lasithi
The first 'day trip' we did was to the Lasithi valley. Lasithi is a remote place, famous for its windmills. It was a beautiful ride, and the views where great. It was so hot, that
we only got out of the car to take photos...
The first stop we did was in a really beautiful taverna, in the middle of the valley. They had a great garden, with beautiful
views.
All villages in crete look the same... A lot of small houses, centered around a big church with a red roof....
Finally we left Lasithi, heading towards the northern coast... The sea was beautiful.
Mohlos
For lunch we stopped in the fisherman's village of Mohlos. It was a beautiful village, with a small island a few meters from
the coast, and lot's of boats resting in the sea...
There are a few tavernas on the beach. We chose the 2nd one, and we had the best meal in Crete...
The stuffed cabbage and peppers were perfect!
